Look down.
Look up.
Look around.
Can you see it?
The reflections.
The reflection of the building off the shallow pools of rainfall—going unnoticed by many as they drag it with them into the corridor.
The reflection of the building off itself—an endless mirror effect, extending infinitely.
The reflection of one side of the building, right down the middle, to the other side—a perfectly satisfying symmetrical form.
The reflection of the building on the students—natural light gently falling on every head.
The reflection of the students in it’s mirrored halls—furrowed brows and pursed lips as they glare and stare at screens and sheets.
The reflection of the students in their contemplative looks—pondering exams and equations. I can’t help but wonder what they’re thinking. I can’t help but empathize.
All this, causes me to reflect.
On the time spend constructing the building, and what I was doing during the time it was being built.
On my time in the building. About the past and the present, as I glide into the future. What will it be like?
On my time at the university. About growth and transitions.
How marvelous and strange, the passage of time.
